Dear Colleagues,
We are organizing a
Special Issue entitled: "COVID-19 and other emerging and reemerging microbial
diseases" which will be published in the Bioscience
Research, an interdisciplinary and peer-reviewed journal focusing on
the area of public health. More information about the journal can be found at
https://www.isisn.org/Bioscience_Research.htm. You can submit your paper to
editorial Office via email:
meditorbr@yahoo.co.uk Please mention BR18(SI-1)2021 code while submitting
the papers.
Ever since the
start of the COVID-19 pandemic, SARS-CoV-2 has infected a significant number of
people globally, with varied clinical outcomes. Medical researchers and health
care personnel have been working to; develop strategies to prevent further
spread of the virus, understand the molecular pathogenesis; advance effective
treatments (including immunomodulatory agents) and highly anticipated vaccines.
We need to reflect upon the developments and limitations related to SARS-COV-2.
Recently, several
emerging microbial diseases have caused human and animal infections. Though
certain emerging infections are localized, numerous emerging diseases have been
dispersed worldwide. Increased cross-border travels and trades and climatic
changes, exercise impending threats of increased incidence of emerging or
reemerging microbial diseases on humans and animals. Arthropods, farm mammals
and poultry serving as vectors or reservoirs lead to dissemination of newer
pathogens. Three fourth of the human infections are caused by zoonotic
infections. Avian influenza; SARS COV-1; MERS COV and recently SARS COV-2 in
2019 have caused significant human disease with higher mortality. All emerging
and reemerging severe disease-causing pathogens need to be closely monitored to
ensure better outcomes of the disease.
Area of research:
Molecular epidemiology, clinical aspects, host–pathogen interactions/
pathogenicity; microbiological aspects/ lab diagnosis; immunology; case
management; therapeutic options; preventive/ public health approach; novel
antiviral drug development and vaccine design.
We welcome the
submission of original research articles; review articles; short communications
and case studies.
We look forward to
publishing your latest research and review on "COVID-19 and other emerging and
reemerging microbial diseases"
